Carbon Fiber Gland Packing

Manufacturers make carbon fiber packing from strong, continuous carbon yarns. They soften, then braid. Next, a mix of proprietary lubricants and graphite or PTFE impregnates the packing. This mixture fills voids, acts as a break-in lubricant, and blocks leakage.
