What are the differences between pure PTFE packing and flexible graphite packing?

Pure PTFE packing

Workers weave pure PTFE packing from pure polytetrafluoroethylene fibers. It has no additives or lubricating oil. It is solidly woven and flexible. This allows for a good fit with the shaft and stuffing box. It has excellent corrosion resistance, good self-lubricating properties, and anti-adhesive properties.

Use PTFE packing in chemical and food operations that ban pollution. You can also use it on valves and rotary pumps. They handle weakly alkaline and strongly acidic fluids.

Application medium: Suitable for all media except molten alkali metals and free fluorides.

Application industries: Food, papermaking, chemicals, power, metallurgy, and medicine. Use where contamination is not allowed.

Flexible graphite packing

Weave flexible graphite yarns through the center to make flexible graphite packing. It has excellent self-lubricating and heat-conducting properties. It has a low friction coefficient, strong versatility, good flexibility, and high strength. flexible graphite packing also protects the shaft. You can reinforce it with materials like carbon fiber, copper wire, and Inconel alloy wire. Use 304 and 316L stainless steel for different needs.

Scope: Equipment in harsh environments, such as high-temperature and high-pressure pumps and valves.

Application medium: hot water, steam, high-temp, high-pressure fluids, ammonia, hydrogen, organic solvents, hydrocarbons, and cryogenic liquids.

Recommended for use in industries such as petroleum, power, chemicals, and steel.
